Scientists have transported energy crystals, which purpose is to help rescue planet Earth from a future alien invasion - unaware that one of the scientists was bitten by a small green and slimy, but deadly alien. He then was turned into a huger version of the species. Now he resides inside a control room of the Vortex Complex - A high security building, where the crystals on Earth are stored. Security forces have been destroyed by beaming aliens. An invasion is about to happen.
The Prime Minister has sent a member of special forces to enter the Vortex Complex. This is where you come in ...

Your mission is to enter 16 different high security rooms inside the Vortex Complex. You must pick up and destroy all of the crystals in each room with your strong hands. After you have destroyed the last crystal, you must have enough ammo to shoot dead an alien, and pick up an exit pass. Then flee for the open door, to the next room. You have 20 minutes before the security systems will trigger a toxic gas, killing you instantly. Watch out for the aliens, spikes and falling through holes. Can you make your way through all 16 rooms of the Vortex complex and encounter the slimy green alien, or will you be too late? Good luck ... You'll need it - most definitely.

Released for the RGCD C64 16KB Cartridge Game Development Competition 2015/16. Programming and music by Richard Bayliss and graphics and design by Alf Yncve, this game is an action shooter in which you need to grab all the diamonds and get to the exit.

Now before you think it's just as simple as grabbing diamonds you'd be sadly mistaken! This game gets even harder with each level and isn't just because of the enemies moving about the screen that need to be blasted away. But there are some rather nasty hazards that can kill you with the slightest touch. One such level has some nasty spikes, that if you do end up touching will be rather painful to say the least.

Overall this is a rather nice game to look at and play, with decent enough controls that don't get in the way of collecting diamonds, climbing ladders or jumping from each platform. The graphics are nice and I especially like the level designs and coloured backgrounds. The only critique I can give the game in my short play through, is a lack of sound and the repetitive music. At first it's nice and upbeat but as soon as the next level starts, the music starts to loop again and gets annoying.
